This Sneaker Art draws inspiration from works of the legendary Lemi Ghariokwu, a Nigerian artist and designer
who is most renowned for providing many of the original cover images for the recordings of Fela Kuti.
Fela Anikulapo Kuti or simply Fela was a Nigerian multi-instrumentalist, musician, composer, pioneer of the
Afrobeat music genre, human rights activist, and political maverick.
This classic 3.0 is our 3rd version of upgrade from the Fela Kuti collection released in 2016 with a lighter, improved non-slip outsole and more refined vegan leather upper.
White is associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity. It is considered to be the color of perfection. White means safety, purity, and cleanliness.
On the other hand, the word “wyte” is a fine imposed by a king or lord on a subject who committed a serious crime. Do we have pure intentions as citizens and public office holders? Are we held accountable for our actions?
This classic 3.0 is our 3rd version of an upgrade from the Fela Kuti collection released in 2016 with a lighter, improved non-slip outsole and more refined vegan leather upper.
We are excited to introduce the KEEXS active lifestyle sneakers. We have created a design that is versatile and extends beyond the gym or morning run. It is a must have fashion accessory which will look great any time of year with various outfits.
Our design takes inspiration from our KEEXS Classic Black Pride of our Fela Kuti Collection released in 2016 and Ijinle slip-on from the IBILE Collection released in 2017.
In 1964, living the dream of their freshly gained independence, Zambia started a space program that would put the first African on the moon, catching up with the USA and the Soviet Union in the space race.
Only a few optimists supported the project by Edward Makuka Nkoloso. Financial aid never came and a 16 year old astronaut, Martha got pregnant. That is how the heroic initiative turned into an exotic episode of the African history.
Our photographic adaption is from the works of Cristina de Middel, a Spanish documentary photographer and artist.
